Important Rules and Questions
Q: Can a friend pick up my packet for me?
A: Absolutely! You are welcome to have a friend pick up your packet for you.
For most races we also offer the option for you to request pre-arranged group packaging for groups of 6 or more. For these races you’ll need to use the GROUP RESERVATION LINK to provide us with the list of names for us to package together. These can be picked up at the pre-race packet pickup, just let us know you have a group reservation when you arrive.
Q: My friend or family member cannot attend, can I carry or wear their race bib along with mine to get their finisher medal?
A: Absolutely not. This is called Bib Muling and is against the rules. Not only will you not receive their race medal, but you will be disqualified and will not receive your own finisher medal. Wearing 2 race bibs messes up the age group and overall results. Finisher medals are given only to those present at the event, if someone you know cannot attend please make sure they transfer to the virtual race if they would like to receive their finisher medal.
Q: Can my friend or family member join me even though they are not registered?
A: This is a private event, not open to the public. Those not officially entered and not wearing a race number cannot be on the course. All participants, regardless of age (with the exception of children 3 & under in strollers) MUST BE REGISTERED and wearing their bib, security will be looking to make sure all participants are wearing a race bib.
Q: I am entered in the event but can no longer attend, what are my options?
A: As noted during registration, we do not offer deferments or refunds. However, for select events we do allow you to transfer your live ticket to the Be Fit Be You Virtual Event. If you cannot attend, this is the ONLY WAY TO EARN YOUR FINISHER MEDAL. We will not give your medal to a friend or family member because you cannot attend.
If the event is sold out, we also offer the option to transfer your bib to another racer.
Transfer options are available up until 3 days prior to the event. After that time, the all transfer options are completely closed, NO EXCEPTIONS.
For liability reasons, please DO NOT GIVE YOUR RACE BIB TO SOMEONE without letting us know.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Sorry, but no furry friends are allowed at this event. While we personally love dogs, we do not allow them on the course. They make great running partners, but not everyone loves having four-legged runners underfoot and plenty of people are severely allergic to dogs. Being around dogs, especially during the hard exertion of a race, could cause an intense allergic reaction. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Q: Can I use headphones or earbuds?
A: Headphones are allowed, however runners must also be able to hear commands and instructions from event staff, course marshals, emergency personnel, and police.
Q: Are strollers allowed?
A: For road running event, we do allow strollers. For the safety of all our participants, we simply ask that anyone pushing a stroller start at the back. Also, with the exception of children in strollers, all participants (regardless of age) must be registered if they are using the course.
Q: Can I run with my Garmin GPS or my Nike Plus device?
A: Yes, participants may wear their Garmin GPS watches and/or Nike Plus devices. However, these items do not count as “second timing devices” and will not be recognized by the event as official times or distances.
Q: Where can I look up the race results?
A: When you finish your race, you can find your results on the screens near the finish line, or simply text your bib number to the number on the back of your race bib for immediate results. . Please check your results and if you place in your age group, your award can be picked up immediately after you finish.
If you do not pick up your award, you can elect the Mail My Award option.
Q: I registered but can’t participate; can I still pick up my race shirt?
A: Yes. Please stop by and pick up your bib and race shirt at any of the packet pickup options available. Shirts and any other event related merchandise will NOT be mailed. Medals will not be given to those that are not attending and have not transferred to the virtual option.
Q: Is there a penalty for giving my bib to another runner on race day?
A: Yes. Any participant who runs under someone else’s bib without going through our system will be disqualified and will not be scored. For the safety of our runners, and in case of a medical emergency, it is imperative that the registration data associated with the race number belongs to the person wearing the bib. Wearing someone else’s bib could also mess up the timing, ranking and awards system. If we become aware that a runner is participating in the event with a bib that is not registered to that runner, both the runner and the person to whom the bib is registered will be prohibited from participating in subsequent events. This also applies to a runner wearing more than one race bib.
Q: Will there be any race photos?
A: Yes! Race photos will be free to download, however we cannot guarantee a race photo of each participant. If you wish to have a specific photo taken, please ask our event photographer… she would love to take your photo! And please feel free to share your race day photos on our Facebook or Instagram pages using #StrutYourStuffing or #131events.
