Kick off your summer with a BOOM! Grab your friends, or run solo and log in some miles. You can pitch a tent, bring some food, it’s basically 6 hours to hang out and run. You can run 1 lap, 5 laps, 10 laps…you can stay for an hour or stay for 6, basically it’s whatever you want.
6-Hour Endurance evening into night running event for Solo Runners and Relay Teams on 1.11 mile lap course. (you don’t have to run the entire 6 hours – your team score is based on the total laps completed)
QUICK FACTS
LIMITED RACE FIELD – ONLY 300 TOTAL RUNNERS!
Q: Do we need to run the entire 6 hours?
A: No, but you do need to complete at least 1 lap to qualify. You and/or your team can run as many or as few laps as you’d like. If you decide to quit early, you’ll just “check out” with our finish line crew to receive your medals.
Q: We have a team, what are the lap exchange rules?
A: Each member of your team can run as few as just 1 lap or as many as you’d like in the time allowed. You are allowed to exchange as often as you’d like, but only 1 runner from each team is allowed on the course at one time.
Q: Is there a space for us to set up a team or solo tent/canopy and hang out while all the running is happening?
A: BOOM Basecamp has plenty of room for everyone, so come ready to hang out, run and cheer! Set up your canopy, bring food and drinks (sorry folks, the parks don’t allow alcohol) and plan to cheer on your team and all the other runners on the course! You’ll also need to make sure you have some light in your tent, it will get pretty dark towards the end of the event (there won’t be outlets available so please plan accordingly).
Q: Do I need a headlamp or flashlight?
A: Remember, this event starts at sundown so the course will get pretty dark. Make sure you bring a headlamp or flashlight to use while you’re running.
